GPS is believed to a factor in collision

(Morehead, KY) –- On Wednesday, April 16, 2012, at 1:31 P.M. Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a phone call from Rowan County Dispatch in reference to a single vehicle injury accident on Pretty Ridge Road in Rowan County. Trooper Joshua Preece, Farmers Fire Department, and Rowan County EMS responded to the scene. Gearaldine L. Stitt was operating her 2002 blue Honda Odyssey south on Pretty Ridge Road, when she failed to negotiate a shallow curve and collided with a tree. It's believed the operator was operating her GPS as she was driving. Mrs. Stitt was flown from the scene to University of Kentucky Hospital where she sustained injuries to her feet and legs. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Joshua Preece.
