3 Arrested Rowan County on Felony Charges

(Morehead, KY) -- On Friday, April 27, 2012 at 6:39 a.m., Kentucky State Police in Morehead received several reports of an abandoned John Deere Gator in the middle of the roadway on Big Perry Road in Morehead. Trooper Joshua Preece arrived on scene and had the John Deere Gator towed. While on scene Trooper Preece noticed a truck and trailer with a lawn mower on the trailer across from Big Perry on US60, after further investigation the owner of the vehicle and equipment was contacted. The owner advised that his vehicle and equipment had apparently been stolen. While Trooper Preece was on scene waiting for the owner to arrive, he observed a truck pulling a trailer with a lawn mower on the trailer that matched the description given by the owner of his other stolen vehicle and equipment.
Trooper Preece initiated a traffic stop. Bo Sparks, 24 of Soldier Kentucky was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Auto and Theft by Unlawful Taking all others. Ashley Shenett, 22 of Morehead Kentucky was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Auto and Theft by Unlawful Taking all others. Christopher Thompson 23, of Morehead Kentucky was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Auto and Theft by Unlawful Taking all others, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia and Promoting Contraband 2nd Degree. It was later discovered that the three individuals were all tied in with the theft of all equipment and vehicles. All vehicles and equipment have been returned to the owner. Incident remains under investigation by Trooper Joshua Preece who was assisted by Trooper Daniel Armstrong.
