Injury Collision on KY 173 in Sandy Hook, KY

(SANDY HOOK, KY) -- On Friday, April 06, 2012 at 12:14 p.m. Kentucky State Police Morehead was notified of an injury accident involving a pedestrian on KY 173 in Elliott County. Jerry Green, 54 of Sandy Hook was operating a 1986 Ford pickup eastbound on KY 173 when he struck a John Deere lawnmower being operated by David Dennis, 66 of West Liberty. Mr. Dennis pulled onto KY 173 while mowing his yard and was struck by the truck driven by Mr. Green. Mr. Dennis was ejected from the mower and both vehicles came to final rest in the roadway. Mr. Dennis was airlifted to Saint Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV with non life-threatening injuries to his head. Mr. Green was taken into custody and charged with Driving on Suspended License and No Insurance. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Royce Collett.
