Injury Collision on KY 15 in Wolfe County

(CAMPTON, KY) -- On Wednesday March 28, 2012 at 11:20 a.m. Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service from Wolfe County Dispatch in reference to a two vehicle accident on KY 15 South in Wolfe County. Michael Stidham, 63 of Jackson, was operating a 1999 Buick Century northbound on KY 15 South near the intersection of Hunting Fork Road in Wolfe County. Mr. Stidham attempted to retrieve his cell phone and became distracted. Mr. Stidham crossed the center line, traveling northbound in the southbound lane. Mr. Stidham struck a 2003 Dodge pickup operated by Cynthia Hawkins, 55 of Louisville, in the driver's side. Michael Stidham and passenger Robert Stidham were transported to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY with non life-threatening injuries. Cynthia Hawkins was not injured in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Britt Rollins.
