DUI Injury Collision on Dry Creek Road in Rowan County

(MOREHEAD, KY) -- On Monday, March 12, 2012, Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a call from the Rowan County Sheriff's Department requesting assistance with a single vehicle injury accident on Dry Creek Road in Rowan County. Trooper Brent Sparks responded to the scene.
The operator of the vehicle was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center by Rowan County EMS. Investigation at the scene revealed that Teresea K. Richmond had been traveling south on Dry Creek Road when she lost control of her vehicle and went off the right shoulder of the roadway. As a result, Mrs. Richmond's vehicle went up a hill and overturned. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mrs. Richmond was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
After Mrs. Richmond was treated and released from St. Claire Medical Center, she was arrested for Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence Alcohol/Drugs/Etc .08 1st Offense and Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation and lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center. Trooper Sparks was assisted by Deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff's Department. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Brent Sparks.
