1 Adult & 1 Juvenile Arrested on Meth Related Charges in Rowan County

(MOREHEAD, KY) -- On Sunday, March 11, 2012, Kentucky State Police Post 8 received an anonymous tip reporting a possible meth lab on Open Fork Road in Morehead, KY. Trooper Brent Sparks responded to the scene. Upon arrival Trooper Sparks was notified that the suspects had fled the scene. Two of the suspects were later located on Haldeman Road in Rowan County. Charles Stevens was initially arrested on an outstanding warrant from Carter County. A female juvenile was also taken into custody and later charged with Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor, 1st Offense. Through Trooper Spark's investigation it was determined that an active meth lab was not present at the Open Fork Road location. However, several of the items required to make the drug were found inside the residence. In turn, Mr. Stevens was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor, 1st Offense. More charges are anticipated. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Brent Sparks. Trooper Sparks was assisted at the scene by KSP Sergeant Jeff Lewis and Rowan County Sheriff Deputy Donnie Hall.
