Injury Collision on KY 504 in Elliott County

(Morehead, KY) -- On March 1, 2012 at 12:46 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a report of a single vehicle injury accident on KY504 near the Caney Boat Ramp. Trooper Royce Collett responded to the scene along with Elliott County Sheriff Jimmy Stephens. Robert E. Riggsby of Sandy Hook was operating a 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup South on KY504 when he dropped off the right hand shoulder and overcorrected crossing the North bound lane, striking an earth embankment. Mr. Riggsby was air lifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Royce Collett.
