Injury Collision on the Mountain Parkway

(CAMPTON, KY) - On February 28, 2012 at 9:27 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a report of a single vehicle accident at the 43 mile marker on the Mountain Parkway. Master Trooper Joe Veeneman responded to the scene along with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Danny Abner and Wolfe County Deputy Michael Caudill. Peggy Combs of Jackson was operating a 2000 Ford pickup attempting to merge onto the Mountain Parkway at the 43 mile marker on-ramp. Ms. Combs had a medical emergency and believed to have passed out behind the wheel. The vehicle veered into a gravel area and overturned. Ms. Combs was transported to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Ky. with non life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation by Master Trooper Joe Veeneman.
