DUI Driver Flees and is Apprehended

(Morehead, KY) -- On Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 11:58 P.M. Kentucky State Police Morehead Trooper Scott Caudill initiated a traffic stop on US 60 West in Rowan County on a 1992 Chevy Corsica, blue in color. The vehicle contained 2 occupants Timothy Carter was the operator of the vehicle and Keith Hall was the passenger. Trooper Caudill made initial contact with Mr. Carter and asked him to step out of the vehicle due to a heavy odor of alcohol coming from inside of the car. After Trooper Caudill instructed Mr. Carter to step out of the vehicle he shifted the car into drive and fled the scene. A short time after Trooper Caudill, Trooper Chris Jones, and Trooper Anson Tribby located both subjects at Mr. Hall's residence on Bluestone Road in Morehead. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident. Mr. Carter was charged with Speeding, DUI 1st Offense, No Seat Belt, No Insurance, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, and Failure to Notify Department of Transportation of Address Change. Mr. Hall was charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place, Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct. Both subjects are lodged at Rowan County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by Trooper Scott Caudill.
