Injury Collision on the Mountain Parkway Ramp in Powell County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On February 15, 2012 Master Trooper Joe Veeneman was contacted by Powell County Sheriff's Department in reference to a single vehicle accident on the on-ramp of the Mountain Parkway at the 18 mile marker. Teddy Elswick was operating a 1995 Chevrolet pickup northbound on Hardwicks Creek Road when he turned onto the westbound on-ramp. The ramp is under construction and Mr. Elswick hit the face of the bridge in the construction zone. Mr. Elswick sustained a head injury and was transported to the Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine, KY by Powell County EMS. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
