Three Vehicle Injury Collision on US 460 in Morgan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On February 1, 2012 Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service of a three vehicle injury accident on US 460 at the Country Corner store in Morgan County. Timmy Meeks was operating a 1995 Chevrolet S10 eastbound when a 1997 Acura CL driven by Georgia Gibson was attempting the make a left hand turn into the County Corner store. Mrs. Gibson failed to yield right of way causing Mr. Meeks to strike the passenger side of her vehicle. The impact caused the vehicles to slide off the roadway striking a 2002 Dodge pickup in the parking lot of the Country Corner store. The pickup in the parking lot was unoccupied at the time of the accident. Mrs. Gibson was not injured and refused medical treatment at the scene. Mr. Meeks was transported to Morgan Appalachian Regional Hospital with non life-threatening injuries to his back and neck. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Mike McPherson, Kentucky State Police Morehead.
