Felony Drug Arrest in Bath County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On January 15, 2012 at 07:01 a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead took a report of a male and female that were using drugs in a vehicle at the Midland Frosty Freeze. Trooper Michael Wathen responded to the area and observed Scotty S. Trent operating a 2006 Dodge Stratus in the parking lot. Trooper Wathen made contact with the subjects and found them to be under the influence of drugs. Numerous prescription medications were found in their possession. Trooper Wathen placed Scotty S. Trent and passenger Sarah R. Downs under arrest. Mr. Trent was charged with Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08 (Agg. Circumstances) 1ST Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance 1ST Degree 1ST Offense (Drug Unspecified), Operating on Suspended/Revoked Operator License,Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1ST Degree, 1ST Offense and Prescription Controlled Substance Not Proper Container 1ST Offense. Ms. Downs was charged with Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol), Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1ST Degree, 1ST Offense and Prescription Controlled Substance Not Proper Container 1ST Offense. Both were lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center in Morehead. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Wathen.
