Two Arrested on Various Felony Drug Charges

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On Saturday, December 31st 2011 at 2257 Hours, Kentucky State Police Morehead Trooper Michael Armstrong was on routine patrol near the 113 mile marker on Interstate 64 westbound. Trooper Armstrong noticed a vehicle on the side of the roadway and pulled over to render assistance.
After arriving on the scene he made contact with Belinda Crouch and Steven Crouch of Olympia, KY. Trooper Armstrong noticed that both subjects had slurred speech, he also witnessed Mrs. Crouch throwing away evidence when he attempted to speak with them. Trooper Nathan Shortridge and Trooper Kenna Burton also responded to the scene to assist.
Troopers received permission to search the vehicle and located 46 pills and several hundred dollars in cash, along with several forms of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were taken into custody, Mr. Crouch was charged with Public Intoxication-Control Sub(Excludes Alcohol), Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia-Deliver/Manufacture. Mrs. Crouch was charged with Public Intoxication-Control Sub(Excludes Alcohol), Improper Display of Registration Plates, No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Fail to Transfer of Vehicle to Properly Execute Title, Prescription Controlled Substance Not Proper Contain 1st Offense, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess. Mr. and Mrs. Crouch were taken to and lodged at Montgomery County Detention Center.
The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Kenna Burton.
