KSP, Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Make Arrest in Winchester

(Winchester, KY) –- On Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. (EDT), the Kentucky State Police, Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Branch, served a search warrant at 124 Shoppers Village Plaza in Winchester, KY. The search warrant was the result of several purchases of synthetic drugs from The Discount Tobacco Store. During the course of the investigation detectives learned of illegal gambling operation which was occurring at the same location.

$51,605 was seized at the store in addition to a large quantity of synthetic drugs (approximately 2000 packages) and 8 gambling machines.

James Clevenger, 53 years old of Winchester, was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree.

Detective Dennis Mabry is the investigating officer and was assisted by KSP Richmond Post, Mount Sterling Police Department, and the Clark County Sheriff's Department.
