6 New Troopers Report to Richmond Post for Duty

(Richmond, KY)- The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, welcomes six new troopers from cadet class 90 that began on April 15, 2012.

Trooper Bobby Edwards, 33, is a native of Annville, KY and the son of Doug and Kathy Edwards of Annville. Trooper Edwards is a graduate of Jackson County High School and formerly an officer with the Berea Police Department and will be assigned to the East Squad which is responsible for Estill, Lee, Owsley and Jackson Counties.

Trooper Aaron Hall, 28, is a native of Berea, Kentucky and the son of Gary and Joyce Hall of Berea. Trooper Hall is a graduate of Berea Community High School, formerly an officer with the Berea Police Department and will be assigned to the Central Squad which is responsible for Madison and Clark Counties.

Trooper Jason Carpenter, 37, is a native of Richmond, Kentucky and the son of Leonard Carpenter of Pine Ridge, Kentucky and Phyllis Wall of Richmond, Kentucky. Trooper Carpenter is a graduate of Madison Southern High School, formerly an officer with the Richmond Police Department and will be assigned to the East Squad.

Trooper Brandon Scalf, 30, is a native of Jackson County and the son of Larry and Julia Scalf of Annville, Kentucky. Trooper Scalf is a graduate of Jackson County High School, formerly an officer with Berea Police Department and will be assigned to the East Squad.

Trooper Keith Parke, 31, is a native of Richmond, Kentucky and the son of Raymond and Angela Parke of Waco, Kentucky. Trooper Parke is a graduate of Madison Southern High School formerly an officer with Nicholasville Police Department and will be assigned to the Central Squad.

Trooper Jeff Stith, 42, is a native of Danville, Kentucky and the son of David and Lela Stith of Danville, Kentucky. Trooper Stith is a graduate of Lincoln County High School Formerly an officer with the Boyle County Sheriffs Department and will be assigned to the West Squad which is responsible for Boyle, Lincoln, Mercer, Jessamine, and Garrard counties.

"I am excited to welcome the new troopers to the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post. Each of the new troopers has several years experience in law enforcement and will serve the citizens of Kentucky with honor and distinction." Captain Lisa Rudzinski, Richmond Post Commander.

During the next 8-12 weeks each will be paired with a veteran trooper during a field training period. At the conclusion of the field training period, the troopers will be released to patrol his assigned area.
