Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, "Click it or Ticket" Enforcement Activity

(Richmond, KY) -- Captain Lisa Rudzinski, Post Commander of the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is reporting the following activity for the national "Click it or Ticket" enforcement campaign.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2022 citations of which 255 were for speeding and 25 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 708 citations for no seatbelts. 15 were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers inspected 3321 vehicles, opened 49 criminal cases and made 140 criminal arrests.

"During the Click it or Ticket enforcement campaign Troopers from across the state conducted numerous Safety Checkpoints in an effort to ensure the motoring public is traveling as safety as possible." Commented Captain Lisa Rudzinski, Richmond Post Commander, "Even though the national enforcement campaign has ended Troopers will continue to observe for seat belt use and child restraint violations in an effort to reduce vehicle fatalities."
