(Richmond, KY) -- Captain Lisa Rudzinski, Post Commander of the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is reporting the following activity for the month of May, 2012.
Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 3005 citations of which 427 were for speeding and 42 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 821 citations for no seatbelts. 43 were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 869 courtesy notices, and assisted 98 motorists, while inspecting 4237 vehicles.
Richmond Post investigated 72 accidents; two of the collisions involved fatalities. In Garrard County a 37 year old male who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle. In Jackson County a 31 year old female who was not wearing a seat belt was partially ejected.
Detectives and Troopers investigated 1380 complaints, and opened 102 criminal cases, and made 355 criminal arrests.
Troopers also worked 763 special details and conducted 33 educational programs in May.
