Domestic Violence Assault Investigation in Madison County

(Richmond, KY) -- Monday, April 30, 2012 at 3:13 am EST, the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, received a complaint on Cedar Hill Drive in Madison County. Neighbors reported that a female had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend and was running up the street in her underwear. Trooper Jeremy Hamm was dispatched to the scene. Upon his arrival, Brandon Crowder was located standing in the roadway near the caller's address. Mr. Crowder told Trooper Hamm that he had poured diesel fuel over himself and would set himself on fire. Mr. Crowder was near a fuel can and was holding a lighter. Mr. Crowder eventually dropped the lighter and was taken into custody. Madison County Fire responded to decontaminate Mr. Crowder.

Trooper Hamm located two females, Heather Crutcher, 29 years old, and Mary Reily, 32 years old, who stated they had been assaulted and held against their will by Brandon Crowder.

Brandon Crowder, 30, of Red House Road, Richmond, KY, was arrested and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center and charged with 2 counts of Assault 4th Degree, Domestic Violence and 2 counts of Unlawful Imprisonment.

Mary Riley sought medical treatment for injuries received during the assault.
