March activity report from Post 7

(Richmond, KY) -- Captain Lisa Rudzinski, Post Commander of the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is reporting the following activity for the month of March, 2012.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1609 citations of which 291 were for speeding and 8 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 249 for no seatbelts. 27 were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 729 courtesy notices, investigated 72 accidents, and assisted 137 motorists, while inspecting 1984 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1268 complaints, and opened 109 criminal cases, and made 273 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 751 special details and conducted 19 educational programs in March.
