Harrison County Arrest of Brenda Kay Brown

(Cynthiana, KY) On November 13, 2012, indictment warrants obtained by the Kentucky State Police were served on Brenda Kay Brown.

Brenda Kay Brown, 62, of Paintsville, was arrested and charged with one count of Adult Exploitation over $300, Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument-2nd Degree, Perjury 1st Degree, Complicity to Theft By Unlawful Taking over $10,000 and Complicity to Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree after being indicted by the Harrison County and Lawrence County Grand Juries, respectively. Mrs. Brown is alleged to have stolen and obtained several millions of dollars by various means including the obtainment of CD's, monetary gifts, property transfers, and unauthorized purchases utilizing the assets of her husband, Mr. James Brown, for her personal financial gain.

Adult Exploitation over $300 is a class C Felony punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison. Complicity to Theft By Unlawful Taking, when the value of the property is over $10,000; Perjury-1st Degree; and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument-2nd Degree are all Class D felonies, punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison.
