KSP Honoring Fallen Troopers

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -In commemoration with National Police Officers Memorial Week, the Kentucky State Police Post 6 Dry Ridge will honor fallen troopers at a ceremony on Wednesday May 16, 2012 at the following locations and times:

Tpr. Joe Ward Jr- Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY at 1030 hours (10:30 a.m.)
Tpr. Robert R. Miller- Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger, Ky at 1130 hours (11:30 a.m.)
Tpr. Herbert Bush- Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Newport, KY at 1300 hours (1:00 p.m.).

Erlanger, Ky
Age 24, was fatally injured Feb 14, 1951 in an automobile accident while enroute to a call for assistance in Boone County. He was assigned to Post 6 and had served KSP for three years. A section of US 25 in Kenton County is designated as Trooper Robert Miller Memorial Hwy in his honor.

Dry Ridge, KY
Age 25, died April 23, 1973, after being struck and killed by a vehicle while working an accident in Hopkins County. Trooper Ward was assigned to Post 2 Madisonville and was a four year veteran of KSP. A section of US 25 is designated as Trooper Joe Ward Memorial Hwy in his honor.

Southgate/Newport, KY
Age 28, was fatally injured Oct 11, 1958 when an automobile struck his patrol car while he was in pursuit of a speeding vehicle. He was assigned to Post 7 Richmond and had served KSP for one year and four months. A section of US 27 in Pendleton County is designated Trooper Herbert Bush Memorial Hwy in his honor.
