Owen County Woman Charged with Attempted Murder

(Corinth, KY) – An Owen County woman has been arrested by Troopers from Post 5 after she attempted to shoot her father. Heather Hammond, 35 years old from Glencoe, KY, was arrested this afternoon by Trooper Dave Roberts. Preliminary investigation shows that Heather Hammond, who is the daughter of Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond, pointed a loaded weapon at her father while at his home in Corinth, KY on October 5th. When she attempted to shoot, the weapon jammed and did not fire. Heather Hammond was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Wanton Endangerment. She was lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.

Trooper Dave Roberts is leading the ongoing investigation.
