Two Vehicle Crash in Trimble County Kills Motorcyclist

(Bedford, KY) - A motorcyclist was killed last night (8/10) in a crash on Highway 42 in Trimble County. Dispatchers at Post 5 received a call at 7:28 of a crash between a motorcyle and a truck. Preliminary investigation shows Mark Rexroat, 43 years old from Bedford, KY, was traveling east on Highway 42 on his motorcycle. Perry Cook, 49 years old from Bedford, KY, was traveling west on Hwy. 42 in a truck. Cook attempted to make a left turn onto Haven Road and drove into the path of Rexroat. Rexroat's motorcyle struck the truck and he was thrown from the motorcycle. Rexroat, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Louisville where he later died. Cook was not injured in the crash.

Trooper Dusty Corbin, an accident reconstructionist, is leading the ongoing investigation. Trooper Corbin was assisted at the scene by the Trimble County Sheriff's Office, Bedford Fire Department, Milton Fire Department, and Trimble County EMS.
