One Person Killed, Two Injured in Carroll County Crash

(Carrollton, KY) – One person was killed and two were injured in a single vehicle crash yesterday (7/15) on I-71 North in Carroll County. At approximately 6:30 p.m., William Wildeboer (56 years old of Woodlawn, KY) was driving north on I-71 at the 39 mile marker. After Wildeboer swerved to miss debris in the roadway, his vehicle went into a ditch and flipped several times. Wildeboer was pronounced dead at the scene by Carroll County Deputy Coroner Brent Stucker. A passenger in the vehicle, 51 year old Mary Wildeboer of Woodlawn, KY, was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Louisville Hospital with life threatening injuries. A second passenger, 12 year old Jesse Wildeboer of Woodlawn, KY, was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville with life threatening injuries. Everyone in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
Trooper Dusty Corbin, an accident reconstructionist, is leading the ongoing investigation. Trooper Corbin was assisted at the scene by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Carroll County EMS, Westside Fire Department, Carroll County Rescue, Campbellsburg Fire Department, and Henry County EMS.
