Cecilia Man Arrested In Big Springs Shooting

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) -– On Monday, October 29, 2012 at approximately 9:05 a.m. ET KSP Post 4 Detectives arrested 21-year-old Steven C. Goodman in connection with multiple armed robberies in the Big Springs Community that occurred on October 27, 2012. Goodman was charged with 2 counts of Robbery 1st, Attempted Murder, 6 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st, Theft By Unlawful Taking (Automobile), Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in Hardin County. He was also charged with one count of Robbery 1st and Kidnapping in Meade County. Additionally, he was served with two outstanding bench warrants from Hardin County. Goodman was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

Update: Convenient Store In Big Springs Robbed, Employee Shot

(VINE GROVE, KY) – At around 7:50 a.m. ET a white male entered Carolyn's Corner, which is on the Meade County side of KY 220. He stated that he had a gun and demanded money and the car keys from the female employee. There was a physical altercation between the two. The suspect forced the female employee into the parking lot, entered her car and demanded her keys. The female employee led the suspect to another employees residence very nearby whom she knew had firearms in his house. When the male employee answered the door the suspect rushed into the residence. The employee produced a firearm and a struggle ensued. During the struggle the male employee was shot once in the arm. The suspect took the victim's gun and fled the scene. The suspect then went to another residence nearby and robbed an elderly man of his car keys at gun point. That man's car was stolen out of his driveway. The suspect is described as a white male, early to mid 20's, thin build, clean shaven and last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, boots, and a gray toboggan. Video from the store is being viewed and may be released once it is processed. Once again, anyone with information about this crime is asked to call KSP Post 4 at (270) 766-5078.

Convenient Store In Big Springs Robbed, Employee Shot

(VINE GROVE, KY) – On Saturday, October 27, 2012 at approximately 8:12 a.m. ET Post 4 received a call of shots fired near the 16000 block of Rineyville-Big Springs Road in the Big Springs community of Hardin County. Near the same time and location, Post 4 received a call from a man stating that an armed man came to his door, pointed a gun in his face and demanded the keys to his car. The man complied and the suspect fled.
Our preliminary investigation revealed that the shots fired came from Carolyn's Corner Store in Big Springs. The suspect entered the store in an attempt to rob the it. A struggle ensued with the employee over the weapon that the suspect produced. The employee was subsequently shot in the arm and the suspect fled the scene. The employee was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was treated and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in serious but stable condition. As of the time of this release the suspect is still at large. He is described as a white male wearing dark clothing with a white hoodie. He may have fled in a stolen dark blue 1998 Buick LeSabre in an unknown direction. Although it is likely, it is not certain if the two incidents are related. Our investigation is ongoing.
