Date of News Release: 10/04/2012
(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) -- On Wednesday, October 03, 2012 at approximately 11:24 p.m. ET Troopers from Post 4 responded to 407 Berea Road in Elizabethtown to investigate a complaint of a female threatening to kill herself. Units were advised by family members, upon arrival, that the female suspect was inside with her husband and possibly armed with a handgun. The female, Jennifer R. Hart and her husband, Christopher Hart exited the residence a short time later without further incident. Troopers entered the residence to check the welfare of three small children and it was discovered that the living conditions of the home were extremely hazardous to their health. The children were removed from the home and placed in the care of the paternal grandmother. The Cabinet for Families and Children also got involved and will follow up with the family at a later date. Both parents were charged with Criminal Abuse 1st Degree and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. Tpr. Bryan Washer is conducting the ongoing investigation.
