Date of News Release: 09/10/2012

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) - On Sunday, September 9, 2012 at approximately 8:35 a.m. ET a passing motorist called Post 4 to report a possible crash on KY 434 approximately 1 mile west of Colesburg in Hardin County. Upon Tpr. Brian Mouser's arrival, he discovered that a 1989 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer being driven by 40-year-old Kevin D. Tuttle of Elizabethtown was westbound on KY 434 when for unknown reasons ran off the right shoulder of the roadway. Tuttle overcorrected, crossed both lanes of travel and went down a steep embankment and struck a tree. Tuttle was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Tuttle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner's Office. It is estimated that Tuttle had been dead for some time. The last known contact anyone had with him was on Friday, September 7, 2012 at approximately 10:30 p.m. ET. Toxicology reports are pending and the investigation is ongoing by Tpr. Mouser. No foul play is suspected.
