Two Grayson County Women Suffer Serious Injuries In Crash

(FALLS OF ROUGH, KY) –- On Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at approximately 6:25 p.m. ET Post 4 Trooper Brad Riley responded to the 9500 block of KY 54 in Grayson County to investigate an injury crash. His investigation revealed that 37-year-old Tonya Maxey of Falls of Rough, KY was operating a 1994 Chevrolet van and was eastbound on KY 54. For unknown reasons the vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a concrete culvert. The vehicle then rotated clockwise, overturned several times and came to final rest off the shoulder of the roadway on its driver's side. Maxey and her 19-year-old passenger, Amber Manor also from Falls of Rough, were seriously injured in the crash. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. Manor was 7 1/2 months pregnant and was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville where at last update was in the labor and delivery department. Maxey was transported to Twin Lakes RMC and later airlifted to U of L Hospital. Tpr. Riley was assisted by the Grayson County S.O., Falls of Rough VFD and the Grayson County EMS.
