Reward Offered For Apprehension of Thieves

(LEITCHFIELD, KY) -- Kentucky Farm Bureau has offered a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) that burglarized the home of Dennis and Cindy Higdon in Clarkson, KY on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 while they attended the funeral of their son, Christian, who was murdered over the weekend. They offer the reward in the hopes that someone will come forth with credible information about who may have committed the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kentucky State Police Post in Elizabethtown, KY at (270) 766-5078 or (800) 222-5555.

It should also be noted that there has been an outpouring of support from Grayson Countians offering additional reward monies and support in response to this case. Although we have received a couple of leads, they have not resulted in the development of any suspects. However, the investigation in ongoing and this case will be updated as new developments can be released.

Thieves Burglarize Home While Family
Attends Murdered Son's Funeral

(CLARKSON, KY) On Wednesday, June 20, 2012 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. CT thieves broke into the home of Dennis and Cindy Higdon of Higdon Road in Clarkson. The Higdon's son, Christian Higdon, was murdered on Saturday, June 16, 2012. They were attending the visitation, funeral, and burial of their son when their home was broken into, ransacked, and several items stolen from inside. It is believed that the perpetrators knew the entire family would be at the funeral during the time of the burglary. It was held at Rogers Funeral Home in Clarkson with the burial at St. Benedict Cemetery in Wax, KY.

The thieves made off a jewelry box containing several necklaces and rings, 4 long guns (Thompson Center single shot Mach III rifle, Iticha 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, 20-gauge double barrel shotgun-unknown make, and a Charter Arms .223 rifle with a mounted scope), 2-Milwaukee brand hammer drills, a Garmin GPS, 3 Toshiba laptop computers with one charging cable, an Xbox 360 Kinect, a Nintendo Wii game console, and a few hundred dollars in loose change and silver half dollars.

At this time KSP has no known suspects, but we are requesting the community's help in bringing these thieves to justice. Ryan Johnson is investigating.
