Date of News Release: 06/03/2012

(HODGENVILLE, KY) On Saturday, June 2, 2012 at approximately 11:59 p.m., KSP Post 4 Troopers responded to an address on River Road in Larue County to investigate a report of a kidnapping and attempted rape of a 10-year-old female child. Further investigation revealed that 28-year-old Jetto Dye of Hodgenville allegedly took the sleeping female child from the residence and into a wooded area behind the house. While in the wooded area Dye sexually assaulted the girl and attempted to choke her to stop her from screaming. As she continued to resist Dye other adults returned to the home. Fearing he would be discovered Dye abandoned the child and fled further into the woods.

Post 4 Troopers and K-9 Fero searched the wooded area as Fero began to track the suspect. Dye was located by Fero and he refused to comply with Troopers orders to show his hands. Fero was released on the suspect and he was subsequently placed into custody. He was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and transferred to the University of Louisville for treatment of the dog bite. He is currently listed in serious condition and is to undergo surgery this date. Dye has been charged with Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Sexual Abuse 1st (victim less than 12), Attempted Rape 1st, and Resisting Arrest. Other charges may be pending. KSP was assisted by the Larue County Sheriff's Department, Larue County Fire and Rescue, Rolling Fork Fire and Rescue, Nelson County EMS, and the Larue County EMS.
