Six People Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on US31W

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) - On Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at approximately 9:43 am ET KSP Post 4 responded to an injury collision at US31W and 1st Street in Elizabethtown. 40-year-old William Lobb from Elizabethtown, KY was operating a 1993 Buick Regal and attempted to turn left onto US31W southbound. Mr. Lobb failed to yield the right of way to northbound traffic and was struck by a 2007 Dodge Caliber operated by 40-year-old Juanita Shoulders from Radcliff, KY. Ms. Shoulders was northbound on US31W when the Regal that Mr. Lobb was operating pulled into her path. Ms. Shoulders' vehicle struck Lobb in the driver's side and both Units came to final rest in the roadway on the northbound side. Mr. Lobb suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene to University Hospital in Louisville. Ms. Shoulders and four children in her vehicle sustained minor injuries and were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by the Hardin County EMS. Tpr. Pete Binkley is investigating the crash.
