Update on Louisville Woman That Was Critically Injured in 3-vehicle Crash in Hardin County

(Elizabethtown, KY) -- On March 20th, 2012, Jefferson County Coroner, Jack Arnold called Post 4 and advised that Shelly Thrasher, 30, from Louisville, KY, died at 8:54 a.m. as a result of the injuries she suffered in Sunday's crash. The crash is still under investigation.

Elizabethtown Woman Critically Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash in Hardin County

(Elizabethtown, KY) -- On Sunday, March 18th, 2012 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Kentucky State Police responded to an injury crash on Interstate 65 near the 101 mile marker. Shelly Thrasher, 30, from Louisville, KY was operating a 2006 Toyota Corolla and was northbound on I-65. For unknown reasons the Corolla drifted to the right and struck the guard rail causing it to cross through the northbound lanes, into the median and into the path of southbound traffic. The Corolla struck a 2002 Dodge Caravan, operated by 33-year-old Katrina Jones, from Elizabethtown, head-on. The Caravan then veered to the right and into the path of a 2011 International Semi, operated by 45-year-old James Fisher from Lowell, MI. The Semi struck the Caravan in the passenger side. Thrasher, the operator of the Corolla was not restrained, suffered critical injuries and was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital. Katrina Jones was restrained and suffered minor injuries and was also transported to U of L Hospital. Her 9-year-old passenger was also restrained and was transported to Kosairs' Children's Hospital with minor injuries. The operator of the Semi was restrained and was uninjured. The crash is being investigated by Tpr. Kevin Warrell.
