Delivery of supplies to Menifee County

Date of News Release: 03/11/2012

(Elizabethtown, KY) -- Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers, personnel, and volunteers will gather at Post 4 in Elizabethtown, KY on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 to prepare to deliver needed supplies to locations in Menifee County. For the past few days Post 4 has been the collection site for needed supplies for the victims of the severe weather two weeks ago. We started with a small utility trailer and hoped we would fill it with supplies to take to Kentucky families. We quickly realized that we would need a bigger trailer. Dennis and Nancy Robey of Keyboard Carriage stepped up and not only donated the trailers, but volunteered to drive them to the sites. Citizens from all eight counties in our Post area donated everything from baby wipes to shovels, from dog food to first aid kits and non-perishable food. We were able to fill two 50-foot trailers with the supplies. We plan to escort the semis from Post 4 at 8 am ET on Tuesday March 13th and deliver them to two locations in Menifee County.
