Woman Killed, 14-Year-Old Son Flown From Scene In Hardin County Crash

(Elizabethtown, KY) -- On March 9th at 2:30 pm ET a white 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by 32-year-old Sarah Martin from Custer, KY was northbound on St. John Road near the intersection of Howe Valley Road in Hardin County when for reasons unknown ran off the roadway. Ms. Martin over corrected and lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep overturned several times ejecting her and her 14-year-old son. The vehicle came to final rest on top of Ms. Martin and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 14-year-old son suffered moderate, but non-life threatening injuries and was flown from the scene to Kosair's Hospital in Louisville. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. The crash is being investigated by Tpr. Chad Taylor. Toxicology results are pending.
