Bowling Green Post 3 Citizens Police Academy

(Bowling Green, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green is now accepting applications for the 2013 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on March 7, 2013.
Potential candidates will meet on Thursdays, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. along with two optional Saturdays where they will receive a hands on perspective on the career of a Kentucky State Trooper including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. They will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.
"There are many aspects to the Kentucky State Police beyond the Trooper that the public does not see on an everyday basis. This academy will give citizens and in depth perspective on a worthwhile, but extremely challenging profession." commented Captain Bobby Murray, Post 3 Commander

Anyone 18 years of age or older living within the Kentucky State Police Post 3 District is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend. All applicants will be subject to a background check. The applications will need to be returned by Thursday, February 21, 2013.
