Injury Collision on I-65 in Barren County

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On Sunday, December 16, 2012 at approximately 2:55 am, Erik Z. Sherrill (24) from Ft. Mitchell, KY, was operating a 2001 Nissan Maxima southbound on I-65, near the 54.5 mile marker, in the construction zone. Mr. Sherrill stated he thought he observed something in the roadway and he swerved to the left. He then lost control of the vehicle and it struck the concrete barrier wall.

Mr. Sherrill sustained a small laceration to his left arm and an abrasion on his forehead, however he refused medical treatment. His passenger, Courtney M. Graves (24) from Ft. Mitchell was not injured.

The collision is being investigation by Trooper Wes Medley.
