Three-Vehicle Injury Collision on I-65

Date of News Release: 11/09/2012

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On Friday, November 09, 2012, Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green Troopers were working a non injury collision on I-65 at the 30 mile point Northbound. While working the collision, Randall Ballard (48) of Louisville, KY, was operating his 2008 Ford Pickup in the middle lane.

When Mr. Ballard observed the emergency equipment from the non injury collision, he took his eyes off the road and did not notice the traffic had slowed in front of him. He then braked to avoid striking a 1993 Toyota Pickup operated by Beganovic Kenan (25) of St. Petersburg, Florida. The actions of Mr. Ballard caused Travis Brown (32) of Liberty, Indiana in his 2007 Peterbilt to strike the vehicle operated by Mr. Kenan.

Randall Ballard and Beganovic Kenan were treated and released from the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Brett Coomes. He was assisted on scene by KSP Post 3 Personnel.
