Home Invasion/Shooting Investigation in Allen County

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- At 5:22 P.M. (CST) Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was contacted by the Allen County Sheriff's Office regarding a home invasion/shooting investigation at 3202 Spears Road in Allen County, Kentucky.

The decedent (Steven Dale Cole (58) of Smiths Grove, Kentucky) was fatally wounded by the homeowner (Gary L. Cole (58) of Scottsville, Kentucky) during an exchange of gunfire at the residence located at 3202 Spears Road.

Gary L. Cole was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. His condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Detective Erik Salman.
