Copass Indicted by Allen County Grand Jury

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- On Wednesday, July 25, 2012, Kentucky State Police Detective Erik Salman served an indictment warrant on Charles M. Copass. Mr. Copass was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on the following charges.

  1. Murder
  2. Fetal Homicide 1st
  3. Robbery 1st
  4. Tampering with Physical Evidence
  5. TBUT or DISP- All Others
  6. Persistent Felony Offender 2nd
  7. Assault 4th Degree (Minor Injury)
  8. Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree
  9. Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree
  10. Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree

Mr. Copass is currently being held in the Barren County Jail.

Murder Charges Filed in the Death Investigation of an Scottsville Woman

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- On Tuesday June 12, 2012 Kentucky State Police through its investigation arrested Charles M. Copass (34) of Scottsville, KY for the murder of Chelsey N. Mahaney (22) also of Scottsville, KY. Mr. Copass was lodged in the Allen County Jail and charged with one Count of Murder.

Death Investigation of an Scottsville Woman

Date of News Release: 06/12/2012

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- On Monday, June 11, 2012, at 6:03 pm Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to 441 Barren River Dam Road in Allen County KY in reference to a death investigation.

According to Detective Erik Salman's preliminary investigation, when Trooper Jason Lanham arrived at this residence he located a female victim lying in the floor deceased.

The female victim is identified as, Chelsey N. Mahaney (22) of Scottsville, KY. Ms. Mahaney was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen County Coroners Office.

The victim will be transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiners office in Louisville where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Allen County Sheriffs office, Allen County Coroners office and the Allen County Ambulance service.
