Non-Injury Collision with KSP Trooper leads to Multiple Felony Arrest

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- On Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 8:21 P.M., Allen County Dispatched received a call regarding a possible intoxicated driver on Macedonia Road in southern Allen County.

Trooper Adam Morgan was in area and proceeded to observe for the driver. Trooper Morgan observed a 1993 Ford F-150 with no headlights on in front of him. Trooper Morgan attempted to stop the truck when it collided with his marked KSP cruiser causing damage to the left front bumper.

The truck was being driven, James Brooks (65) of Bethpage, Tennessee. After speaking with Mr. Brooks, Trooper Morgan arrested him at 8:35 P.M. Mr. Brooks was then taken to the Medical Center in Scottsville as part of Trooper Morgan's investigation. Mr. Brooks became belligerent at the hospital and struck Trooper Morgan in the chest with his fist while in the hospital.

James Brooks was then lodged in the Allen County Jail. He is currently charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st, Assault 3rd, Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Trooper Adam Morgan. He was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Sergeants Frank Cornett and Derek Grant along with the Allen County Sheriff's Office.
