Date of News Release: 05/30/2012

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- On Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 11:47 A.M., Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to the 19 mile point on I 65 regarding a three-vehicle two person fatal collision.

Preliminary investigation shows that a Ford F 250 pick up truck was traveling North in the far left hand lane when he made an abrupt lane change causing him to hit a tractor trailer in the center lane. The Ford F 250 then crossed into the far right lane striking a second oversized tractor trailer.

The operator and passenger of the F-250 were pronounced dead on scene by the Warren County Coroner's Office.

The operator of the oversized tractor trailer was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN; his injuries are unknown at this time.

The operator of the first tractor trailer was not injured.

The names of the parties involved are not being released at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
