Five Year Old Killed in a Two Vehicle Collision on I-65

(Bowling Green, KY.) -- On Sunday, May 13, 2012, at 4:05 A.M. (CST), Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green, responded to the 72 mile point on I-65 south regarding a two-vehicle fatal collision.

According to Trooper Jeremy Smith, a 2005 Gray Toyota operated by Muhammed Rajpar (23) of Palatine, IL was traveling south on I-65 when it attempted to overtake a 2007 Blue Chrysler operated by Reginald M. Randolph (45) of Indianapolis, IN that was traveling south in the right hand lane on I-65.

The 2005 Toyota van sideswiped the 2007 Chrysler causing it to leave the right hand shoulder of the roadway and striking a rock wall. The 2007 Chrysler then overturned and came to final rest in the median of I-65.

The operator of the 2005 Toyota lost control of his vehicle after colliding with the 2007 Chrysler and also left the roadway and struck the rock wall. The 2005 Toyota came to final rest on the right hand emergency lane facing northeast.

Muhammed Rajpar and his passengers Yasher A. Rajpar (19) of Glendale Heights, IL were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital where injuries are unknown at this time. The other passenger Klalid Rajpar (61) also of Glendale Heights, IL was taken to University of Louisville where he is listed in critical condition.

Reginald M. Randolph and his passengers, Angela White-Randolph (42) of Indianapolis, IN where taken to University of Louisville Hospital. Mrs. White-Randolph is listed critical but stable condition. Mr. Randolph's other passengers Ramon Randolph (6) was transported to Kosair's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky where is listed in critical condition. Joseph Randolph (5) was pronounced dead at the scene by Hart County Coroner Jeff Roten.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Jeremy Smith. He was assisted on scene by Lieutenant John Clark, Sergeant Mitch Hampton, Trooper Lonnie Hodges, Trooper Joel Huff, Trooper Jonathan Holbrook, Trooper Brett Coomes, Hart County Coroner Jeff Roten, and the Bonnieville Fire Department.
