Two-Vehicle Fatal Collision in Allen County

(Bowling Green, Ky.) –- On Monday, May 07, 2012, at 8:56 P.M. (CST), Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was contacted by the Allen County Sheriff's regarding a two-vehicle fatal collision on US 31 E south of Scottsville, Kentucky.
According to Trooper Gregory Dukes, Unit 1 a 2002 Ford Ranger Pickup being driven by Charles D. Beach (81) of Adolphus, Kentucky was traveling south on US 31E in the Northbound Lane. Unit 2 a 2011 Peterbilt tractor-trailer being driven by Victor M. Becerra-Munoz was traveling North on US 31 E. Mr. Becerra-Munoz observed the 2002 Ford traveling south in Northbound lane. He attempted to maneuver around the 2002 Ford when Mr. Beach corrected and hit the 2011 Peterbilt head-on in the southbound lane.
Mr. Becerra-Munoz was taken the Medical Center in Scottsville for observation. Mr. Beach was also taken to the Medical Center in Scottsville where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Trooper Gregory Dukes. He was assisted on scene by Trooper Jason Lanham, Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Allen County Sheriff's Department, Allen County EMS, and the Scottsville Fire Department.
