Update to the Fatal Motorcycle Collision on KY 88 in Hart County

(Bowling Green, Ky.) - On Monday April 02, 2012, Kentucky State Police Post 03 was notified by the Jefferson County Coroner, Eddie Robinson, who advised that Cynthia O. Jaggers (39), of Munfordville, KY, succumb to the injuries she sustained during a motorcycle collision in Hart County, KY, on April, 01,2012 .

Fatal Motorcycle Collision on KY 88 in Hart County

Date of News Release: 04/01/2012

(Bowling Green, Ky.) - On Sunday, April 1, 2012, at 6:31 P.M. (CST) Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to KY 88 (Cub Run Hwy) in Hart County, Kentucky. The call was in regards to a fatal collision approximately three miles west of Munfordville.

According to Trooper Raymond Chambers, James Jaggers (44) of Munfordville and his passenger Cynthia Jaggers (39) also of Munfordville were traveling on his 1995 Honda motorcycle on KY 88. Mr. Jaggers lost control of his motorcycle when he attempted to overtake another vehicle while traveling east. Mr. Jaggers exited the left side of the roadway and he and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.

James Jaggers was pronounced deceased on scene by the Hart County Coroner Jeff Roten.

Cynthia Jaggers was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Neither James Jaggers nor his passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The investigation is still ongoing and is under the direction of Trooper Raymond Chambers. He was assisted on scene by Trooper Graham Rutherford.
