Injury Collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway

Central City, KY. -- (Muhlenberg County) � The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Western Kentucky Parkway, approximately 5 miles west of Central City, on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 7:50 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that John W. Mathis, age 31 of Villa Ridge, IL, was operating a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway when his vehicle traveled into the median. Mr. Mathis overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. It exited the right shoulder of the roadway and traveled up an earth embankment. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch off the right shoulder of the roadway.
Mr. Mathis was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital where he was treated and released. He was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers.
Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. KSP CVE Sgt. Del Miller and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
