Central City Man Arrested After Brief Vehicle/Foot Pursuit

Bremen, KY. (Muhlenberg County) – Trooper Jon McGehee arrested a Central City man on numerous charges after a brief pursuit in the Bremen area.
On Thursday, November 8, 2012, at approximately 2:33 p.m., Trooper McGehee attempted to stop a 2002 Mercury Sable on Gishton Road for various traffic offenses. The operator failed to yield to Trooper McGehee's emergency equipment and fled northbound onto KY 81. The operator made a sudden turn onto Billy Drake Road. The pursuit continued onto Brittany Lane where the operator drove through a yard. The operator abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the operator was apprehended by Trooper McGehee.
The operator, identified as Michael D. Robinson, age 30 of Central City, KY., was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center and charged with the following offenses:
- Speeding 26 MPH or > Over the Speed Limit
- Reckless Driving
- Disregarding Stop Sign
- Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree – Motor Vehicle
- Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree – On Foot
- Resisting Arrest
- DUI 1st (Aggravated)
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (4 counts)
- Failure of Non-Owner to Maintain Insurance 1st
- Execution of Parole Violation Warrant
