Dawson Springs Man Injured in a Collision on I-69

Dawson Springs, KY. (Hopkins County) –- The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury collision that occurred on Interstate 69, approximately six miles east of Dawson Springs (30 mile-marker), on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 10:58 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Raymond S. Sherrill, age 41 of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 2003 Pontiac Aztek southbound on I-69 when he lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a deer that had entered the roadway. The vehicle traveled into the median where it overturned onto its passenger side.

Mr. Sherrill and his passengers, Sherrie Jones, age 35, and Alex Sherrill, age 14, both of Dawson Springs, KY, were transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper Jonathan Murphy conducted the investigation. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
