Christian County Pursuit Ends with Arrest

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) -– A pursuit on Interstate 24 in Christian County ended with the arrest of two, out-of-state subjects.
On Sunday, September 23, 2012, at approximately 2:31 a.m., Trooper Jeff Ayres observed a vehicle westbound on I-24 at the 73 mile-marker traveling at 100 mph. Trooper Ayres activated his emergency equipment in an effort to stop the vehicle. The driver disregarded his attempt to stop him and continued westbound on the interstate.
The pursuit traveled into Trigg County and ended at the 68 mile-marker when the suspect vehicle finally yielded and stopped. The operator of the vehicle, Gay Htoo, age 20 of Amarillo, TX and the passenger, Pway Htoo, age 33 of Storm Lake, IA were arrested without incident.
Gay Htoo was charged with the following offenses:
- Speeding > 26 mph over the limit
- Reckless Driving
- Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree (motor vehicle)
- No Insurance
- Failure to Notify D.O.T. of Address Change
- DUI 1st Offense
Pway Htoo was charged with Public Intoxication. Both men were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
