Hopkins County Death Investigation

(Hopkins County) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of one person and severe injuries to another.
On Sunday, August 26, 2012, at approximately 9:51 p.m., the KSP Post 2 Madisonville received a call in reference to a shooting that occurred in the Dalton Community of Hopkins County.
Upon preliminary investigation, it appears that a juvenile shot two subjects outside their residence on Dalton Road. Rose M. Riley, age 45, was pronounced dead at the scene by Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield. Her husband, Keith R. Riley, age 51, was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
The juvenile was charged with murder and attempted murder and lodged in the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, August 27, 2012, in Louisville. The investigation is continuing by the KSP.
