Traffic Stop in Muhlenberg County Leads to Felony Drug Arrest

Date of News Release: 07/03/2012

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On July 3, 2012, at 2:05 P.M., Trooper Jon McGehee, Unit 503, initiated a traffic stop on a 1992 Chevrolet Pickup Truck being operated by Tony W. Vincent Jr. for a seat belt violation. During the traffic stop, Trooper McGehee determined that Mr. Vincent was driving under the influence and placed him under arrest. While searching Mr. Vincent, Trooper McGehee located some prescription pills. While searching Mr. Vincent's vehicle, Trooper McGehee located methamphetamine, marijuana, and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Vincent was charged with:

  1. Failure to Wear Seat Belts
  2. Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense
  3. Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug
  4. Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Offense
  5. Possession of Marijuana
  6. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  7. Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine
